Shenzhen Has China's Highest Minimum Wage

Minimum wage in Shenzhen has surpassed that of Shanghai

SHENZHEN - Good news for restaurant owners in Shenzhen: the minimum wage for diners in the city is the highest in China!

According to the Shenzhen city government, the minimum wage in the city has been raised from the equivalent of $213 to $241 a month.

Shanghai held the distinction of having the largest minimum wage in 2013.

While the raise is not expected to worry the city's employers, the average monthly salary for Shenzhen's employees will be raised to $530-$670 a month.

This may be a small indication that more eating out will be taking place in the city soon!
